Easy to make TOWER GARDEN

A brief overview of my first hydro/aeroponic style tower garden.

I used a 115mm x 1500mmPVC pipe and cut 70mm slits, 200mm apart using a hacksaw.
I then made a form out of scrap wood that would give me a hole slightly bigger than my Rock wool plugs.
Using a heat gun i heated the plastic pipe around the slits until i could get the form in and create a hole. I used a damp cloth to help cool the plastic and therefore set the hole. I also sanded the cuts so when the area was heated all the small plastic particles wouldn’t melt and seal the hole!
I cut a hole in a large plastic container an cut a slit where the power cable for the pump could go.
I used an old submersible fountain pump with a 1.5metre head capacity. This was sufficient to pump the water vertical.
I attached some old hosepipe to the output on the pump and putting the bottom of the pipe through the lid, put the pipe directly onto the pump.
With the lid on it holds the pipe vertical very well with no wiggle!
The hose goes all the way to the top and goes through an old plastic plant pot with a hole drilled through it.
And hey presto…

Stay tuned for part 2 which will hopefully see me using it to grow some amazing food!
