Adolescence is a critical time for brain development, which is why using marijuana at this age can be so dangerous to young adults. Along with reducing a teen’s ability to concentrate and learn, and being more prone to respiratory and gastrointestinal illnesses, the use of marijuana actually gears the developing adolescent brain into thinking it needs marijuana to feel good.
