Utah Medical Cannabis Act changes 2019

Changes to Medical Marijuana Prop 2 dispensing in Utah still underway
ST. GEORGE, Utah – (9/24/19) Even though the medical cannabis law was passed by Utah voters as Proposition 2 in 2018, state lawmakers are still working on how to implement the new changes. In a special session September 16, legislators unanimously passed amendments on how it could be dispensed. This was after changing the language of the proposition after it was voted in.
The most recent changes, waiting to be signed by Governor Gary Herbert, scrap the proposed state centralized system, now allowing a number of private dispensaries to set up shop.
